Make Homemade Gifts for Mother’s Day
One thing all moms tend to have in common when it comes to gifts: homemade is best. DIY Wreaths
Whether you opt for a wicker wreath full of bright spring flowers, or a whimsical painted design with the kids’ photos in the middle, mom will love a hand-made wreath she can proudly display. For a floral wreath, gather the flowers you want to include and your favorite floral foam shape. Cut stems to the preferred length, then add to the foam until it’s covered evenly with flowers. Fill empty spaces with fresh greenery or bunches of burlap ribbon to style.
DIY Corsages
Moms will love a fresh floral corsage made just for her! Gather 3-4 like-colored flowers together, trimming the stems to the same length. Lay flowers flat and arrange until you’re happy with the look. Gather stems together and wrap with floral tape tightly enough that flowers won’t move. Choose a ribbon that complements the colors of your flowers and tie around stems, completely covering the floral tape. A sweet knot is a great finish, but beautiful bows can add flair, as well! Secure with a straight pin through the ribbon and floral tape for mom to wear to brunch!
DIY Centerpieces
There are so many great ways to design a beautiful centerpiece that mom will love. This season, we’re loving the look of individual stems in small vases. Choose mom’s favorite color and flower (pink roses, yellow daisies?) and put each stem in its own small clear or milk glass vase. Arrange in a wooden crate or atop a cake stand for a gorgeous centerpiece at your Mother’s Day tea party!
