African Violets are the perfect blooming plant to add a pop of color to a windowsill, end table, or other small space. And, they’re safe for pets! Their clusters of blooms come in a variety of colors – and after those fade – their fuzzy, green foliage adds character while you wait for their blooms to come back. The most important things to know about these plants are: (1) They need bright light to bloom and (2) It’s important to water them correctly. Always water them at the base of the plant – underneath its foliage – to prevent damage or yellowing on the leaves. Pinch off flowers when they are spent to help stimulate more blooms. With the right care, your African Violet could keep blooming for you for a long time!
